a5c7b9f00b After a 10 year absence, the Dark Knight has returned to Gotham to fight the Mutant threat. After defeating the mutants, he has taken control of a gang loyal to him in order to make Gotham a safer place. But, the Joker has decided to stop this, and fights against Batman in a deadly duel. Meanwhile, the Man of Steel is ordered to stop the Dark Knight because the government believes that his ways are wrong. As Batman fights the Joker, the Man of Steel prepares for his greatest fight.
The Batman has returned after a 10-year absence. The Gotham authorities want to arrest him. An old foe wants a reunion. The Feds want the Man of Tomorrow to put a stop to him.
After I watched part 1 (which was perfect) I was excited for part 2. Now, I'd say about half of the movie was incredibly good, and I admit I had my mouth literally hanging open in disbelief a fair amount. However, there is a lot wrong with it, at the same time: <br/><br/>1) Whereas the first part highlighted Batman's age and the fact that he had to fight differently, the second one throws all that out the window. In part two Batman is portrayedan inhuman fighting machine, who is tougher than he ever was when he was younger. The action in this one doesn't have the class and style of the first movie. It's just straight-up violent, frantic action.<br/><br/>2) The whole subplot with Superman seemed clumsy and tacked on. It really either didn't need to be there, or needed to be reworked. Also, Superman would NEVER have acted that way.<br/><br/>3) The whole Joker part had some serious flaws to it. Brutal violence ensues and greatly disrupts the feel of not only the first movie, but strays from every Batman movie or animation ever made.<br/><br/>4) The whole part about the new commissioner. Seriously?? It was laughably unrealistic. She is obsessed with stopping Batman even though the Joker is killing people left and right. Way over the top.<br/><br/>5) Lastly, there was just a lot of 80's comic goofiness in this one. Some of the plot stuff just didn't make any sense (the nuclear winter part) Batman riding around on a horse, etc etc.<br/><br/>As I said, this was a solid movie in some ways, even great in some ways. But everything about it was just way too over the top compared to part 1 and it had a completely different dynamic to it. Still, I'm giving it a pretty good rating.
Doesn't make any sense, the movie has things like Superman working for the US government and attacking and killing Russian troops in a badly explained conflict, that's not how Superman acts, it's something like USA are the good guys and Russia the bad guys no matter what. Something else about how bad the movie is, is scenes like the one where 20 or more police officers try too shoot Batman up-close with machine guns, in various situations, and they all miss, every time, even when he doesn't move, they don't get one shot! No adult will feel like those scenes are credible enough to be a in "serious" movie. Adding the bad and cliché dialogs and a not very good voice acting makes this a kids cartoon. The thing is the movie has very violent and gory scenes that kids shouldn't watch, like Batman stabbing Joker in the eye with a Batarang and Joker stabbing Batman in the belly, amongst other scenes, too violent and bloody for a child to watch. Usually the Batman movies and most of the Batman comics and videogames are meant for a more adult audience while some cartoons and other comics are meant for kids. So I must ask: For whom is this cartoon meant to? Childish for adults, too much blood and violence for kids…

The budgets for the DC Universe Animated Original Movies only allow for films of about 70 to 75 minutes in length. The graphic novel The Dark Knight Returns is long enough that it couldn't be adapteda single animated film without seriously compromising the original story. The book has been split into two to allow for a more faithful adaptation.
